Two Superb little routines to check files against originals ensuring that no errors, bugs or any Virus characters are present. Displays all information 'as and when' errors occur. Use this to assist you in locating code characters for other tasks needed. This utility is 'Command' line operated. Just enter the two files to be compared against. Displays both Hex and Decimal. Also gives the DATA line location for any already *created ASCII DATA files that have been used to insert in other routines. VERY Simple to operate with GREAT results. Included as 'one' package, a *DATA/DATAB creator.
If using in windows, make shure that you set the properties to force the window to stay open. Right Click mouse, select properties and Uncheck PROGRAM close window on exit. Run from the command line. Best placed in directory that all check files are located.

Utility. If you are a member of 'Link Exchange' (or another BANNER/CLICK type trader) and collect the necessary HTML files for 'Links' then you may want to create an 'All-in-one' Site Search system. This routine will assist in doing this. All that is required, is that you put all the links into a single ASCII document. Then use this routine to create the 'DATA' file for a 'Site Search' Routine.

This site has some great FREE utilities, amongst those is Script Sentury. This little stand-alone utility can protect various file extensions from running. Two absolutly SUPERB programs with a host of facilities including loading various Skins/Themes and Extensions. Probably the most used today. You must have a look at these. Far to many facilities to list here. I use them as my defaults, and nothing else. You will have to use IE to get Microsoft updates. Having said that, FireFox has a facility for you to call IE and goto the correct webaddress.

SPIDER.
Internet Explorer 3/4/5: FREE. When you delete Cached items and other Files, they are still there in other unknown files, including DAT files, waiting to be examined by others. Spider also can remove 'Cookies', Temp files and so on. You will need to edit one 'Windows Registry' entry to make this complete. Very simple to use and does its job well.

ADD/REMOVE PRO.
ADD this to your Windows 95 or 98 system and get a proper visual display and control of those programs that have been installed. This program will show you what is installed correctly and what is not. Many features which also includes the ability to checks links, Remove programs with or with a 'Backup' facility (just in case you make a mistake). As with all Programs and Utilities, read the manual and make sure that you understand before you start. Simple to operate. Works superbly and recommended.
Removing entries from the registry will not decrease the size of the registry until the Registry is exported and rebuilt. WinRescue can perform this. It's process for doing this is called RegPack. WinRescue is Shareware.

A simple (and effective) routine to enable you to add an 'Autorun.inf' file to the contents of your floppies and then execute like a 'Autorun' CD. A good way to develop your own sequences for CD creation without 'Blowing' a lot of CDs to test each application.

MEM TRAX vs 2 (428k)(Windows 95/98)
Here is a superb 'memory reclaim' program. This attempts to release memory correctly when Windows fails to do so after programs are exited. It has a Small Footprint, very simple to use and works very well indeed. It comes in two modules. The GUI version offers visual indicators of your memory information and allows you quick access to change settings. The mini 'Skin' display is discreet and attractive. The NON-GUI version has no interface and any settings will need to be either adjusted via the '.ini' file, or through the GUI Version. I have tested both 'Ram Booster' and 'CacheMan' and find that 'Mem Trax' operates very much better alround and gives a 'steady' control over the 'write buffer' when creating CDRs. I recommend it.
A helpful hint: Always remember, when creating CDRs, remove as many background operating programs. This ensures that memory and system resources are at their full availability and speed.
