Browsor been changed by ISP or Software?

Has your Browsor stopped allowing you to access Web Sites and seems to always point to the same Web address despite you trying different Dial Up telephone numbers and suppliers? Does your Browser only work correctly on one ISP? If this is the case, do not panic.

Examine your browsors 'Internet Settings' menu and select 'Connections' or the menu that will show you all the different DialUp suppliers. Now select each DialUp name and see if the 'Use proxy server' is checked 'ON' or examine the contents and note down the HTTP settings. If they all point to the same address, uncheck the 'Use proxy server' selection. That's it. Simple really. You could use a very nice FREE bit of software called XTEQ that allows you to alter 'all sorts of settings' from 'Windows environment' and 'Browsor' to 'Com ports' and other 'Software'.

ISPs and Software suppliers do not have the right to change things stopping you from accessing anything else. It is an 'unreansable' demand. More to the point, not to inform you what is going to be done and how to correct it if you decide to use other applications/suppliers, is a very bad practise indeed and legal advise should be taken if the problem is not sorted out fast and correctly. It is also 'unreasonable' for the supplier to force you to do any form of re-installation of software after they have messed your system up.
Still, if there is a problem like this, you have the right to get them to solve it. 'Technical Support' telephone calls range from 50 pennies to over £1.00 a minute. Most calls involve 'time'. Simply contact their 'free phone' or 'local rate' numbers and state its' a violation of your system' and an 'unreasonable' activity and you want your system back as it was before you installed their software without the need for re-installation of anything. You should first send a e-mail. This is far better, as the responce with any soloutions will cost you nothing. What's more, you may be able to resolve the problem quite quickly as the information is written down for you. Nothing takes up time than trying to follow instructions on the telephone. Do not be fobbed of by 'Autoresponders' and ISPs attaching their 'FAQ' files. Scan the attachment first and then read the file, just incase you missed something. If no information is present to solve your problem, contact them via telephone. No one should have to wait days or weeks for assistance for any serious problem.
Remember, be polite but firm. It cost nothing.
