Frauds and Scams warning Sites.
Not Just on the internet.
Never do anything unless you have checked properly !!

First, and MOST IMPORTANT of all :-
Do Not Give anyone your Telephone number, Home/Work/Internet Address, Passport pages (or copies of), Your photograph, Bank/Other Account details or anything else! Never Ever take a plane trip to the country concerned !!! You could be kidnapped, and at the worse, killed. It's not a joke.... just have a look at the sites listed below, and the information given by various police agencies.
Always check on the internet. Do a simple search on those peoples names, companies and so on. Look for any warnings on those searches. If it's not in the search, it does not mean it's not there. Change your 'Search' parameters and keep looking. Check telephone numbers, address and ALL other details given. Never take things at 'Face value' !!
If you have any doubts after all that, then contact Scotland Yard's Fraud squad with all the information you have gathered ! There is no harm in contacting your policing agencies. They are there to help and catch the criminals. That's what you pay them to do!!

If it sounds easy, involves lots of money, offers 100% success and totally safe for you, THEN YOU CAN BET IT IS A SCAM OR A FRAUD !!!
WARNING!!
We think that 'INTERNATIONALSWEEPSTAKES LOTTO' SCAM hits Gt. Britain. We checked the telephone number given. The Agent contact telephone number is a Satellite Phone (number not in use) and the other was at a known registered address (from Dir Inquires) for the above, located in EC1R 0HB LONDON. The letter states:-
'FROM: THE DESK OF THE PROMOTIONS MANAGER, INTERNATIONAL PROMOTIONS/PRIZE AWARD DEPARTMENT, REF: NBM44125677 AND BATCH NO: 31/701/AM.....' (NB! numbers may differ'). It then goes on to say ...
'..... you WON $5.500.000,00 US Dollard ....' and then at the bottom of the e-mail, states ... 'Any breach of confidentiality on the part of the winners will result to disqualification. Please do not reply to this mail. Contact your claim agent.'
The last part is absolute nonsense!! Real 'contests' would never every say things like this!!
We telephoned the London number, and was transferred to an auto response system. So we faxed them.... no response to date.
This is quite obvious a SCAM. The closing date for claims is 17th of October 2003. We suspect, that
'ON' or just 'AFTER' that date, the recipient of this e-mail will be contacted. From what we can gather from past SCAMS, that a fee will be asked for, for either releasing the so-called capital, or for late confirmation. They may even ask for your account details to deposit the 'so-called' winnings, in. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY ACCOUNT DETAILS WHAT_SO_EVER !!
Note! Real 'contest's would give you the winning cheque, either with a mass of publicity, or in a private ceremony, depending on the final agreement between yourselves.

UPDATE!
We sent a 'Recorded Delivery' letter to the 'Agents' contact address, which was promptly returned by The Royal Mail as 'Address Unknown'. This is supposed to be a company called 'Financial Securities Co' located in Grosvenor Square, London.
We have sent all documentation, including the original contact e-mail to 'New Scotland Yards' Fraud squad, for further investigation.
